A perfectly sweet-sour cool drink for summertime. This lavender lemonade recipe is made with fresh lavender sprigs and fresh-squeezed lemon juice.
1 cup sugar
about 6 sprigs fresh lavender
about 6–10 lemons (2 cups of fresh lemon juice)
- Over high heat, bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil with the lavender sprigs and sugar to create a simple syrup. Steep for at least 30 minutes.
- Squeeze the lemons and combine the lemon juice with 6 cups cold water.
- Combine the lavender syrup with the watery lemon juice. Be sure to strain the lavender syrup well.
- Store in the refrigerator. Serve cold over ice with fresh lavender for garnish.
